Good Eats

Even though there hasn't been any holidays lately, baking is still my PASSION, and I just can't help myself. My sweet friend Leinani gave us some mangoes from her tree, and I wanted to make Mango Bread, but I didnt have enough flour so I  converted a Blackberry Mango bread recipe into a cake. I also didn't have any blackberries, so I looked around and found some frozen strawberries in the freezer from our Yoplait yogurt smoothie mix. I thawed them in the microwave and added some sugar for sweetness. Recipe here: http://tastykitchen.com/recipes/breads/blackberry-mango-bread/

Me and my friend Amy were asked to make some WHITE desserts for our R.S. Enrichment Temple night. I thought of these Secret Kiss Cookies that I used to make, they are so buttery and soft and have the right amount of chocolate and sweetness from the powdered sugar. I made some with fresh chopped macadamia nuts from my father in laws house and some with out. Recipe here: http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1710,157171-240205,00.html

My friend Amy (she is an amazing cook and baker) made these delicious  white cupakes with a Lilikoi curd filling and yummy light homemade Italian Meringue buttercream using egg whites! mmmmm. She came over to my house and we decorated them with marshmallows we cut in half and dipped in lavendar and white sanding sugar. I made some pink ones for Bettis birthday and thought they would be so pretty for our Enrichment night. The lavendar really was beautiful! I love the look of these edible flowers!!
