APRIL FooLs DAY

This is serious business around our house! April 1st is one of those days where anything goes and is SO much fun. I L♥VE L♥VE L♥VE doing things with food, and this day makes for one of the funnest for sure! I asked the kids to put their silly faces on and I got what I asked for! Love them!!
I knew I wanted to go with an Asian Theme bc I have been wanting to make "Sushi" for a while. I was inspired by a few pix online which I will post soon as I find them. I had some dried chow mein noodles in my cupboards and used that as my base for the stirfry. Our favorite was the soybean- I was going for peas in a pod, but we agreed it looked more like a soybean-it really did!! and then used some marshmallow candy with my crinkle cutter to make carrots and eggs. Airheads were perfect for red bell peppers. Wanted to get some takeout containers from Ben franklin, but got some from Panda Express instead along with a few chopsticks. They were very nice about it! I offered to pay, but they said not to worry. I saw one person use dried pineapple for chicken pieces, but couldnt find any so we tore up some hawaiian shortbread cookes instead. Added some cashew nuts to be healthy-ha ha! and put it all in a pan to look like we were really "stir-frying" it.

Love these Sushi rolls, and by the way, this is the ONLY way I will eat Sushi, in dessert form using cut up twinkies, starbursts and airheads for carrot, egg, and avacado/cucumber, and a fruit roll up.

Caramel Sundaes with a cherry on top or rather . . .mashed potatoes with gravy and a tomato! Was hoping to find cherry tomatoes but these would have to do.

Cupcakes-using mashed potatoes-(cant believe how real the frosting looks when you add a little bit of food coloring gel), and homemade meat balls with breadcrumbs and cheese etc. . .

Betti was SO ready to dig in, starting with Dessert first of course!

Who can say they have eaten a mashed potato meatball cupcake with chopsticks? Ella says!
What kind of parents are we huh Ethan?
Sundaes and cupcakes for dinner, oh my!! Liz says OK!!

April fools on a plate

Daddys fortune of the day! Heard this saying in seminary a long time ago, and thought it was a great thought to end the day. SO thankful for my family and all the fun times we get to share!!
