Easter

Such a lovely Easter-Uncle Lance came out, Grandpa Redding and Arlene came over and we really enjoyed our time together. The Easter bunny came and thought it would be funny to hide Liz's basket on the roof. Too bad he didn't hide the stool, she'd probably still be trying to figure out how to get her basket down. Betti was so cute especially when she found her basket-she picked up her chocolate bunny box and hugged it-so sweet! They got some lovely books, a 1000 piece puzzle, a quiet book toy, a golden egg, $1.00 (Ella was most excited about her dollar!) and candy of course. Enjoyed easter lunch and attended church. It was my turn to teach in R.S. that day so it was a really busy week! It was a lesson about the Immortality of the Soul-fitting for us celebrating the Resurrection.

Easter Lunch: I've always wanted to make pork tenderloin and found 2 recipes: One with a Brown Sugar Balsamic Glaze slow roasted in the crockpot (my hubby likes sweet sauce) and one with a mushroom onion gravy that was baked in the oven. mmmmmm! Also found a recipe for Asparagus Tart using puff pastry, and gruyere cheese, made "french rice" (my sis n law Christine from France taught me how to make it back in college-it uses onions, butter, garlic and herbs de provence. And to cross off something on my New Years Resolutions list, and to use up a lot of eggs, since we didnt color eggs this year-I actually made CREME BRULEE! I did a "practice" batch a few days before, and it i really cant believe that it totally worked! I used Martha Stewarts recipe and Pioneer Womens methods using an electric stand mixer instead of a whisk. Oh my yummy creaminess goodness!! For any of you who are as intimidated as I was, I hope you try it! It is SO worth it!!
