My first Sewing Project

My hubby surprised me wth a sewing machine for Valentines Day. Thanks babe! I was SO not expecting that! I finally used it last month to make my friend Rachels baby a little tie. At first
I just found this cute onesie church shirt at Macy's. (talk about a good deal-clearance for $2.49) I looked everywhere for a tie, but couldn't find any little ones. Luckily we have the internet where thousands of people share their wonderful talent.-I looked up a tie tutorial and found these ideas. Great ones on making a tie from another tie. I liked the idea of using elastic so it can go on easily and expand with your babies growth. I must say, it was pretty hilarious learning "How to Tie a Tie" first-took me seriously 25 minutes! Ha Ha! It's tricky!! Realistically it was only 1 inch of sewing by machine for each tie-the rest was by hand, but hey sewing is sewing. . .I had to thread the bobbin, insert it and then thread the needle too. . .it's been a While!!! Last time I sewed was in college over 10 years ago. Anyways, this was so cute. Here are the tutorial websites, including a video on how to actually tie a tie too.
