Da' Feta Mo' Betta

We got to see some "surfing" goats, as well as feed them and milk them. . .
Ethan and Leena tried a little surfing of their own, we bought some dark chocolate truffles ( mint, tahitian lime, strawberry balsamic, and lilikoi) and a goat book to take home. Leena is holding a blue ribbon that said "I milked a Goat today" The kids all got one and got to do some cheese tasting as well-pretty yummy-basic chevre called "udderly delicious", french dream  made with herbs de provence, and a couple more I can't remember. Their cheese has won a few awards too. Their Feta took 1st place national award 2006 & wasProudly served during the 2009 Inauguration festivities for President Obama.
We chose to do the "help with the evening chores" tour, mostly, so that the kids could milk a goat. It was totally worth it. Liz was a little grossed out, Ethan a little intrigued and Ella a little, I mean A LOT in to it! The tour guide said they could milk (by pump) 80 goats in 2 hours. There are over 100 goats at the farm and they get milked 2 times a day.
The goats must have been starving when we came around, because they were going to town! It was pretty neat to watch. Some of the goats were eating hay out of another goats mouth, and one of them even tried to nip at Ethans watch. Ella could have hung out with the goats all day long if we let her. All in all a very fun trip.
