Decided to go to Iao Needle because it's a very short hike, you can have a nice picnic, swim in the river, and it's so green and beautiful. . .and hey: it is summertime after-all. They charge $5.oo to park your car in the parking lot now, unless you are Kamaaina (resident with a hi drivers license or ID). It was a little cold at times but the kids still got in anyways-they found a spot where they hung out for a while, before I said it was time to come in. Ethan found a mini boogie board and tried to use it, but there were too many rocks-it was sweet to see the kids helping Ella get around in the water. (it's a good idea to wear reef shoes) Me and Leena hung out on a rock and watched the kids havin a good time. This is Day 1 b/c we went back the next day with Daddy to a different spot where you could actually jump in instead of just wading.
