On Monday morning my water broke while at home around 10:45am (that's a first-normally it happens for me at the hospital, or the Dr. has to do it) I called David and told him it was time, my dad drove me to the hospital and we checked in around 12 noon.
We got admitted, & set up in a labor/delivery room-hooked up to monitors and an IV. . .waited and waited and waited through contractions, only to be 3 cm dilated for hours. So they gave me some pitocin through the IV to have more frequent and stronger contractions, but still no change. . .
Until the baby's ♥beat dropped significantly-there was some panic and the nurses started to think they had to prep me for an emergency C-section. They cut off the pitocin, rolled me to my side, lowered my bed to have my legs elevated higher, and gave me oxygen. We waited a few minutes (seemed like forever) and everything went back to normal. Had to stay on my right and left side for the next 2 hours though.
After everything seemed fine, I was put back on pitocin and given an Epidural and a shot of an Intrathecal (similar to an epidural but only lasts 2 hours)-and I must say . . .WOW!!-not feeling the pain of contractions was AMAZING. My hubby was constantly checking the monitor and telling me I was having a contraction-i was like "really" with a big smile. Even got to rest for a little while.
So around 9:30pm they checked me again and I was 6-7 cm dilated. They called the Dr. and within the next 45 minutes I was 10 cm and ready to push. I felt a ton of pressure and some pain as I pushed because she was coming out face-up. Ouch! So when her head came out the Dr. turned her body and I pushed some more.
My favorite moment finally came-she was Here and they placed her on top of me. She barely cried at all, just laid there sweet and warm. I looked at David and looked at her-so grateful to Heavenly Father for another wonderful blessing. We came home Wednesday afternoon and are so happily enjoying our little piece of Heaven on earth.
When the kids get home from school they wash their hands and get in line for their turn to hold Leena. They are just Amazed when it comes to their little sister- excited and watching every little thing she does like rooting and wanting to suck on everything to how tiny her little fingers and toes are, what her burps sound like and laughing when she makes that face to "go" in her diaper. They took tons of pictures on their cell phones so they can show their friends and have been great big helpers takin care of the house and each other.
I am recovering and doing well, lots of soreness in lots of areas, but getting better everyday. My milk came in tonight so Leena had a nice filling-Looking forward to the days ahead and hopefully a Boy somewhere in the near or FAR future. . .;0)

Congrats!
CONGRATS! She is beautiful. I love her cheeks and dark hair. The nice thing is your children are older and can be big helpers. I love all the pictures. Thanks for sharing :-)
